Entrepreneurship Development

The main research of the department is related to the theoretical problems of entrepreneurship development, increasing its efficiency in the conditions of a transformational economy and its impact on the socio-economic development of the region and the state as a whole.

Scientific directions:
− formation of the entrepreneurial environment and factors that form it and study of trends in the development of the entrepreneurial sector of the economy;
− formation and development of the concept, methods and mechanisms of functioning of the system of institutional support of the entrepreneurial sector of the economy;
− identification of priority areas for the development of the entrepreneurial sector of the economy and development of a strategy for its reform;
− development of entrepreneurship in sectors of the real economy as a mechanism for increasing its competitiveness;
− study of mechanisms for coordinating the interests of business structures and authorities;
− identification of priority areas of adaptive management of business processes in the context of digitalization of the economy and development of strategies for their implementation;
− identification of current challenges and threats to the development of the economy and its industries, the movement of labor force and their impact on the real sector of entrepreneurship in the context of digital progress and wartime.

In general, more than 40 monographs and 5 textbooks have been published during the department`s existence. Scientific and scientific-practical achievements were reflected in more than 400 scientific articles.

Within the framework of the integration of science and education, the department makes efforts to cooperate and coordinate activities with scientific institutions and universities of Ukraine regarding issues related to the development and improvement of the efficiency of entrepreneurship. Agreements on scientific cooperation have been concluded with lnstitute of lndustrial Economics of National academy of sciences of Ukraine, Odesa National Economic University, Odesa I.I. Mechnikov National University, Odesa National University of Technology, Odesa Polytechnic National University, Khmelnytskyi National University, Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University etc.

A school of managers was created at the department, which trained employees of medium and small businesses. Employees of the department constantly perform expert functions regarding scientific and dissertation works and fundamental research.

During the period of the department’s existence, 17 dissertations were defended, of which three were for obtaining a Doctor of Economic Sciences. The department consists of 1 doctor (T.V. Umanets) and 6 PhD in Economics (G.V. Karpinska, N.A. Klevtsevich, I.A. Topalova, S.O. Danilina, L.S. Shatalova).

The department was founded in 1992.
